BYAKKO is a Japan-based curated brand exploring Japanese craftsmanship, objects and ways of living that value time, care and longevity over constant newness.

We look for things that have already lived a life — and still have more life in them.

• Handmade ceramics, made to be used.
• Objects repaired and given a new beginning.
• Craft that continues to live in the present.

We don't choose things simply because they are old.

We choose them because they still feel relevant.

Because they carry the marks of the hands that made them, the people who used them, and the time they have travelled through.

We are interested in what happens when old things are allowed to live in the present.

A kimono should be worn, not simply preserved. A handmade bowl should be held and used. A broken object can become something different through repair.

We don't believe in filling a collection for the sake of having more.

Our approach is deliberately slow.

We would rather share one meaningful piece than fill a collection simply to make it look full. We would rather take the time to understand an object than rush it to market.

And we believe the spaces between collections matter too — a chance to look, learn, walk, make and notice.
